With Tilly the Toucan
"I’m Tilly – and not a happy one at that.
Flew back to me gaff the other night, looking for a bit of home comfort and it was gorn. A lovely big kapok tree in what I thought was a nice area and someone had half inched it. And all the other trees.
Nothing left but burnt cinders, smoke and silence. All me mates had disappeared – the Monkey Boys and Big Cat, Little Raccoon and Snake Hips. No Morpho the butterfly and no praying from Mantis. I don’t know if they moved or – well, I don’t wanna go there but it’s not good. The only places that are left are all full up.
Give it a few weeks and the ploughs will be in followed by the cows and the soya fodder for factory farmed pigs and chickens. And then some more trees will go.
You probably don’t know it but all this is so you can go on eating meat and dairy. Give us all a break and get stuck into some Fruity Fundays. The world’ll thank you for it! So will I.
